  2. Growing inequalities and unregulated finances are expropriating people everywhere • From their fair share in the benefits of global prosperity

Since 2000, the BCI (Basic Capability Index) moved up to just 3 points (100 is the maximum value), • While world CO2 emissions, that had fallen in the last decade of the 20th century, moved from 4.1 tons per capita to 4.6 tons. • World trade and per capita income also grew faster than the social indicators

Analysis of Bangladesh situation in view of RIO Declaration Key Observations • There are historical absence of long-term planning and sustainable development efforts. • Overpopulation is the main cause of environmental degradation and resource depletion. • Rural to urban migration is one of the country’s biggest Concerns • Each year, 500,000 more people arrive in Dhaka. • The geographical imbalance in income has been accentuated • Dhaka controls about 70% of the country’s money supply and attracts almost 60% of total investment.

Analysis of Bangladesh situation in view of RIO Declaration Key Demands • International Court on Food Rights / Justice • New UN Charter and Body to take responsibility of Climate Forced Migrants • Developed countries should provide green technology to LDCs free of cost and without IPR as they are historically responsible for climate damages or making the climate unsustainable. • Govt. should take sustainable plan
