Purpose • To assist parents of seniors to learn how they can : • Ensure that their children successfully meet high school diploma requirements • Ensure that their students are prepared for post-secondary choices i. e.. 4-year college, 2 year college, junior college, trade school, military or work
WHS GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS • FUTURE READY CORE • 4 UNITS OF ENGLISH • 4 UNITS OF HIGH SCHOOL MATHEMATICS (ALGEBRA I, GEOMETRY, ALGEBRA 2 AND ONE HIGHER MATH – PRECALCULUS OR AFM) • 3 UNITS OF SCIENCE (EARTH, BIOLOGY AND A PHYSICAL SCIENCE) • 3 UNITS OF SOCIAL STUDIES (WORLD HISTORY, CIVICS/ECONOMICS AND US HISTORY • 1 UNIT OF HEALTHFUL LIVING (HEALTH/PE) • 13 Electives • Graduation Project • Total 28 Credits
UNC MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS • STUDENTS PLANNING TO ENROLL IN ONE OF THE 16 UNC SYSTEM CONSTITUENT UNIVERSITIES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: • MINIMUM GPA 2.5 • MINIMUM SAT (CR + M) 800 • MINIMUM ACT COMPOSITE 17 • Students may complete paper applications but online application through CFNC is preferred • Transcripts may be sent electronically at www.cfnc.org or requested from Ms. K. Conner
COMMUNITY COLLEGES • Students must complete an application for admission • Transcripts may be sent electronically at www.cfnc.org or requested from Ms. K. Conner • Take a placement test in Math and English at community college • SAT/ACT score may be used in lieu of placement tests if they meet the cutoff standards

Fees begin at $11.00.
