Standard Data Products • Population and dwelling counts • National Overview highlight tables, free, download-able • A National Overview: Population and dwelling counts (print publication), fee • Highlight tables • Highlights for each release presenting key indicators • Rank, sort and chartingfunctionality, free, downloadable • Analysis series • Launched via The Daily ... analytical perspective document(s)/article(s) that supplement Day of Release information (may include thematic maps, vignettes, tables, charts, etc.) • Free, HTML, PDF

Standard Data Products • Topic-based tabulations • Series of simple to complex cross-tabulations, current and historical census data – some available on Day of Release, some follow • Major ‘streamlining’ from 2001 • Down to CD/CSD now available for free • HTML, CSV, Beyond 2020 • Cumulative profile and release components and Print profile series • Overview of geographic areas for detailed variables/variable groups • Release component ‘piece’ available on Day of Release … Together they will form the complete cumulative profile(approx. 1,700 stublines) • CMA/CA now available for free • Dissolved CSDs between 2001 and 2006 • Print profile publications (CD/CSD and CMA/CA/CT), 500 stublines, fee

Custom Products and Services • What is not available via Standard Products … for fee • Census custom tabulations (through the regional office, Client Services Task – COD) • Semi-custom products … • Semi-custom profile (fixed profile for a custom geography, i.e., school district, hospital zone etc.) • Target-group profile (fixed profile for a custom target group, i.e., ethnic or linguistic group) • Semi-custom cross-tabulations (replicate content of a standard TBT for a custom geography or special output medium)

Census Web Module (I-Shelf) … Access Levels • I-Shelf Infrastructure allowing content maintainers the ability to load and unload tables/products from the census Internet servers to service a variety of census data users • Graduated Levels of Access… LEVEL 1: • Free, general public, less complex products, one geography at a time, HTML/CSV/Print-friendly, generally down to CMA/CA levels of geography, some CD/CSD - TBTs (new for 2006)

Census Web Module (I-Shelf) … Access Levels LEVEL 2: • Free for pre-established user/stakeholder group (Depository Services Program – libraries, Data Liberation Initiative, funding federal departments, provincial/territorial focal points, regional offices, census/STC partners) … fee – for ‘outside world’ • Simple to complex products, one/multiple geographies at a time, HTML/CSV/Print-friendly, Beyond 20/20, all levels of geography except Dissemination Area (DA) or those products deemed ‘too large/complex’ to be served-up via the Internet • Enhanced level of access delivered via IP address and/or ‘cookie’ LEVEL 3: • Internal category … DA products and/or those too large/complex to be served-up via Internet (FTP, CD-R delivery)

Looking Towards 2011 … • Overhaul/replacement of PASS Tools (CAPSS, E-Shelf, etc.) – ‘web-ready outputs’ • Increased delivery of products and services on-line (more for free, lower levels of geography) • Moving away from ‘canned products’ … users may have the ability to pick and choose their product outputs • Improved timeliness of census releases • Enhanced product integration, searching, graphing, multi-media data presentation, thematic mapping, etc • Enhanced partnerships (i.e., Learning resources, post-censal surveys, expansion of Community profiles data, etc.)
