Objectives • Identify six functions of the skin, the two main regions and the purpose of specific skin cells • Explain skin and hair coloring describing what happens to the skin exposed to UV rays • Describe the structure of hair and nails • Summarize the characteristics of three major types of skin cancer • Discuss the difference between different degrees of burns and treatment for each • Describe four skin eruptions and four diseases of the skin • Describe changes to the skin from birth to old age
