Los participos To form the past participle: 1. drop the -AR, ER or –IR 2. Add –ado, -ido or –ido Examples: HABLAR – AR + ADO = hablado (spoken) COMER – ER + IDO = comido (eaten) VIVIR – IR + IDO =vivido (lived) ** if stem ends in a vowel, you need an accent: CREER – ER + IDO =creído (believed)
BCV: before conjugated verb • Conjugation of haber and participle can not be separated. • Reflexive pronouns, “no” must be placed BCV. • (Ya me he duchado.) • (No me he duchadoya.) Adverbs (“ya”, “todavía”) can be placed BCV or after the participle
