  2. Alliance The NV Zeekanaal en Watergebonden Grondbeheer Vlaanderen signed a co-operation agreement with the Hungarian inland port Győr-Gönyű

Aim • Encourage the two-way goods flows between Flanders and Hungary • Make intermodal transport facilities and special transport on water available to small or medium-sized companies • Further development of port facilities and logistics • Simplification of administration and other formalities • Exchange of statistical and technical information, information concerning goods transports, the maintenance and management of inland ports and waterways • Creation of a fixed goods transport connection between the two inland ports

NV Zeekanaal en Watergebonden GrondbeheerVlaanderen • Established by the Flemish Government in 1994 • Assignment: - Management of : . the Sea Canal Brussels-Scheldt . the Leuven-Dijle canal . the canal to Charleroi - Management and operation of the grounds along the navigable waterways of Flanders except those managed by the 'Dienst voor de Scheepvaart' (Flemish Shipping authority) or a port company - Composition of regional advisory councils and consultation with local and regional authorities and interest groups

  5. Location • Connects the European capital Brussels with the river Scheldt • Immediate proximity of the ports of: . Antwerp . Ghent . Zeebrugge . Ostend . Rotterdam • Immediate proximity of the airports of: . Antwerp (Deurne) . Zaventem . Ostend . Brussels South • Connection to the European railway network • Connection to the Western European motorway network • The whole of Western Europe can be reached
