I think our film ‘Ruined’ is an independent film. It is a low budget film that has a target audience of UK youngsters. We would go with a smaller marketing campaign for example revolver have distributed many films similar to ours like ‘anuvahood’ and ‘kidulthood’. Their target audience is the same and has new emerging talent for example Adam deacon starred In both these films and after doing kidulthood which came out first he then went onto directing writing and acting in Anuvahood.
Who would be our target audience for our media product. • It would be a young age group for example 16-35 and would be a niche audience. Most probably the male audience would take more to the idea of the movie • They would be in to chart music and thriller films not bothered by violence and bad language. • They will be interested in who the director is and the stars that are in the movie and also obviously the genre. • In anuvahood they used telly adverts and posters on bus shelters to advertise their movie so their audience would have been the same age group as ours.
This is Sean he is 18 years old and lives in London, he dresses like a wannabe gangster baggy jeans low down, big baggy t-shirt with lots of ‘bling’ he has the newest trainers and wears caps and a big scarf to hide parts of his face. He enjoys socialising with his friends who all dress the same as him they hang out in a park or pub or one of theirs houses. They watch a couple of movies that they think they relate to for example kidulthood and adulthood or anuvahood these are all films they enjoy watching because they can relate themselves back to the characters and play around on that for jokes. At home Sean wouldn’t watch much telly maybe the odd sitcom but other than that he will spend all his time in his room listening and rapping to music. • He loves RnB n grime his favourite artist is Eminem he could listen/rap along with him for hours
