In Luton & Bedfordshire services are provided by Workplace Options (formerly Employee Advisory Resource). SEPT - MANDATORY TRAINING • Employee Support Helpline • The Employee Support Helplines (ESH) are a confidential 24hr Life Management and Personal Support Service. • South Essex staff provider is LIFEWORKS • Luton & Bedfordshire's staff provider is Workplace Options • These service's can help you deal with both everyday situations and more serious problems. • It is a professional and quick way to solve the challenges and new situations that you may face. Your ESH can help you achieve a positive balance in your life. The ESH can be used in addition to, or instead of, the personal counselling / therapy. Life Management Services For practical concerns, your ESH service's offers you a range of easily accessible information services either by telephone or via the web. These are provided by teams of skilled consultants. The range of issues that they offer help with, but are not limited to: Financial - money management; debt; mortgage arrears; negative equity; child support Legal - consumer complaints; insurance claims; neighbour disputes; motoring offences; child residency; divorce law Relationships - family; work; partners Family Care - childcare and eldercare; education; financial concerns; state benefits and allowances Work - career matters; maternity; harassment; aspects of employment; work related stress
SEPT - MANDATORY TRAINING Personal Support Many people contact their ESH at times when they are simply over-stretched and would benefit from professional guidance and from talking to someone impartial. Your calls are always answered by a qualified counsellor who can provide support on a range of personal issues including emotional problems, family concerns, relationship or marital difficulties, work related worries, stress or other individual concerns. Telephone Counselling Your ESH counsellors can help you reach a decision, sort out confused feelings, try a different approach or just find a better way of living with a problem that will not go away. Do not be afraid to make a call early rather than allowing your concerns to grow. If you wish, you may be able to speak to the same counsellor more than once. Confidentiality Both services are independent external organisations. They work to a professional code of strict confidentiality where only in the most extreme circumstances would confidentiality be broken, for example threat to life. Who Can Use It Both ESH support lines can be used by you, or by any members of your family. It is funded by your employer, so there is no cost to you.

Your employer recognises that you may need help to deal with the challenges that you face in life, both practical and emotional. Your Employee Support Helpline is there to provide you with this kind of professional Life Management and Personal Support.
