Trash for Cash Feasibility/Recommendation Report Zack Etlinger, Tyson Rusche, Tucker Read, and Jessica Farmer
Trash for Cash Our goal for this report is to assist the Texas Boys Ranch in receiving funding to help support the library that is currently being built or similar financial burdens. We have put together this report for Mr. Bob Mize, the director of the Texas Boys Ranch, and for the benefit of the kids at the Texas Boys Ranch.
Trash for Cash The basic idea for the fundraiser is that the boys of the Texas Boys Ranch would be picking up trash in littered areas of Lubbock in exchange for donations from local Lubbock businesses and residents.
Why Trash for Cash? • Benefits not only the Texas Boys Ranch, but also the city of Lubbock • Has the potential to be highly profitable • Feasible for the Texas Boys Ranch to carry out • Need financial assistance in building their library
Challenges we faced • No prior fundraising event similar to this on record • Finding areas of Lubbock in which the boys would collect litter • Determining the Texas Boys Ranch staff that would be available • The availability of the boys to participate in the project
Document Design • We chose a simple, easy to read design for our report. We did this so Mr. Bob Mize, who is extremely busy, could skim through the report quickly. • Each section of the report is on its own page. This allows for the report sections to be split apart and given to people as necessary. • We anticipated that the future readers of the report would appreciate an easy to read font style and size.
Document Organization • Our report follows the general outline of a standard report, except for the fact that we moved the “qualifications” section. • We moved the “qualifications” section to the beginning of the report in order to establish our credibility with our audience. • We each wrote two sections of the report to equally distribute the work load
Document Composition • Our report was shorter in size due to the fact that we only presented one idea to Mr. Bob Mize. • We compiled our individual sections of our report together. Then we each proof read each other’s work. • We also took our report to Art Fricke for suggestions and editing.
