Welsh National Memorial Association (WNMA) Records Background: • Established 1910 – supported by David Davies, MP (Lord Davies of Llandinam, 1880-1944) • Charter granted 17 May 1912 • Chief aim to combat the prevalence of tuberculosis in Wales • Legacies and gifts of property funded its work • Provided four main services: dispensaries, research, residential institutions, educational programmes • Temple of Peace and Health (Cardiff) 1938 • Disbanded following the National Health Service Act 1948
