This was the most important thing to me he want simple thing for all people to be treated equally Dr. King was involved in one of his greatest plans to dramatize the plight of the poor and stir Congress to help blacks
When he said this it made me fell like he felt unsafe all the time he knew that he was going to fight for our rights but he knew he was going to be killed “Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!”
Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity Activist and a strong leader in the African American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for being an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights in the United States and around the world he was know for the brave man who took a chance and made a difference
But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition. All dr king wanted was to peacefully help all that were in segregation he felt that our shameful condition at that time must no longer continue
