  3. East High School • School Day 7:30am – 1:42pm • 4 min passing time between classes • Block Schedule ~ 80 min classes/4 classes per day • 4 day rotation

  4. School Involvement • Clubs and Organizations • East Senior offers over 30 different clubs! • Class Council, Art, Spanish, French, Science, Yearbook, Student Council, Drama, Musical, Masterminds, International, etc. • Sports • East Senior offers about 30 sports for boys and girls • Visit the athletic website for sport offerings and details www.wscschools.org/athletics • Volunteer Work/Community Service

  5. Graduation Requirements • 4 years of English and Social • 3 years of Math and Science • 4 years of Physical Education • ½ year Health • 1 year of Language Other Than English • 1 year of Art/Music • Total 22.0 Credits • Minimum of 6.5 credits each year • Minimum of 65 on each Regents exam

  6. Types of Diplomas Regents Diploma And Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation

Regents Diploma Must pass 5 Regents exams Regents Exams in: English Global US History Science Algebra Regents w/Advanced Designation Must pass 9 Regents Exams Regents Exams in: English Global US History 2 Science (physical/ & Liv Env) Foreign Language (Regents Equivalent Exam) Algebra Geometry Algebra II Types of Diplomas

Support Services • Academic Intervention Services (AIS) • 80 minute block for extra support • Some students may be mandated based on 8th grade state assessment scores • After School Regents review classes prior to January and June exams • After school help with teachers • All teachers are available after school 1:45-2:30pm • Parent/Teacher Conferences • December • Peer Tutoring • Fresh Start Mentoring Teams

Program Planning • Mr. Yokom will be going into LOTE classes on January 18 to discuss scheduling • Individual scheduling appointments will begin the week of January 28thand go until the end of March • 8th graders will be scheduled based on recommendations from: • Teacher • Counselor • Parent • You will be able to see your child’s scheduling requests on Parent Portal • June 3, 2019 – last day to make schedule changes for the 2019/2020 school year

Freshman Schedule • English (1 credit) • English 1 CC or English II CC Enr • Global I (1 credit) • Math (1 credit) • Algebra CC, Algebra 1A CC or Geometry CC • Science (1 credit) • Living Environment or Enr. Living Environment • French II/Spanish II (1 credit) • Art/Music Elective (1 credit) • Phys Ed (.5 credit) • Total ~ 6.5 credits • Enriched students may be able to add additional electives

  12. Orientation Freshmen Orientation August 2019 • Students and parents are given the opportunity to become familiar with East Senior • Meet Teachers, Counselors, Administrators and Class Advisors
