Helpdesk and Collaborative Services • Helpdesk • Requested 1 FTE to address: • Increases in staffing and user levels • Conferences and workshops • Collaborative Services • Email and Calendar (migration to Zimbra?) • Will continue to monitor Cloud offerings • Audio and Web Conferencing for online meetings • ReadyTalk provided by ESnet • Video Conferencing • H.323 services provided by ESnet

Systems and Cyber Security • Virtual Machines effectively addresses growth • Central File Server • Go distributed (robustness) and increase capacity • OS support • Windows, Red Hat EL, Solaris (??), Macintosh • Audio/Visual infrastructure (streaming video, video conference) and conference/workshop services • Requested 1 FTE • PDAs and other portable device support/management • Requested 1 FTE • Cyber Security is adequately integrated with Systems and Networking to address future needs.

Networking • Internet • 10Gbit WAN – Esnet • 45mbit WAN backup – Cox • Will increase or find a second path to ESnet • LAN • 10gbit LAN - Ethernet infrastructure (Backbone) • 10gbit connectivity between Halls and Data Center • UIM project to address growth and new buildings • Working with Facilities on funding source • WiFi • Expand indoor coverage and deploy outdoor WiFi mesh • Merge IT and Accelerator WiFi systems into one

Telecom • Land Line Telephone • VoIP addresses capacity issues • Phone extension exhaustion (for direct calling) • Use internal phone extension numbers • Use as a building notification or PA system • Cell Phones • Lab provided cell phones work in Tunnels, Halls, CC • Stipends for personal phones • Paging • Texting to/from cell phones • IT and Accelerator tools work with texting devices • Already paging cell phones via text
