Online/eLearning – Why Use eLearning with my Classes? • Enhance Learning • To illustrate or reviewa difficult or complex concept • Learners can access anytime, anywhere • Increase Quality and Productivity of Instruction • Create once – use many times over • Reusability encourages employing high quality production resources (graphics, video clips, simulations) • Examples:>> What is an OS and what does it do?>> How does magnetic storage work? Online/eLearning – How can I get started with eLearning? • Pick a concept that can be explained on a page • A single concept that needs clarification, review, illustration • A concept that has great reusability • Create a layout/storyboard to develop the single concept lesson • State the Learning Objective (expected outcome) clearly • Sketch out the lesson development • Identify illustrations needed (photos, diagrams, clipart, media, etc.) Walter Behnke - VCC

Online/eLearning – How can I get started with eLearning? • Learn a webpage creation tool • Take a step to get comfortable with a webpage creation tool • Macromedia Dreamweaver or other • Use the webpage creation tool to build a lesson webpage • Follow your lesson development plan • Preview the webpage in an internet browser Walter Behnke - VCC
