Auto Chromaticity and Tune Adjustments Jerry Annala Feb 6, 2009
Program Function • Turn on Tune Trackers • Set tunes at .572 and .59 • Turn on Chromaticity trackers • Set Chromaticities at 4 units • Play RPOS curve with tune trackers on • Prompt ops to check with page C43 • Set tunes to .578 and .586 • Prompt ops to use page C101 • Set tunes to .576 and .583

Typical Program Performance • Splitting tunes (1 minute) • Adjusting Chromaticity (1.5 minutes) • Run RPOS curve (1 minute) • Operator Check of Chromaticity and Coupling (?) • Set tunes for HEP (20 seconds)
Issues and Improvements to make • A better choice of starting tunes might help • Tune up internal times used to wait for trackers to settle after turning on and making changes • Vertical tune tracker sometimes responds a little slow. • Tune tracker (vertical) sometimes locks on to different synch lines when cycled.
Issues and Improvements to make • Vertical tune seems to move when vertical chromaticity is changed. • Need to have better interface to sequencer so it is clear how to run the program (especially if there is an error).
