  2. Topic according to unit-Trends • Questions: • What is a fad? A Trend? Have you heard of the term ‘fad diet’? Can you think of any examples? • Do you pay attention to fads? Or is it inevitable?

  3. What are some trends going on at the moment? In fashion, in toys, in movie genres or music? Dance, working out? How about electronics? • Are trends the same as popular culture? Do some trends eventually become a part of our national or global fabric?

  4. How does one find out about the current trends? Is social media helpful? • Are there any current trends you don't like, or believe that might be harmful or misinterpreted? • Are there any trends from the past you hope come back?

  5. Are there any trends from the past you hope never come back? Some that, when you look back on them, you feel embarrassed of? • Do your parents talk about fads "in their day"? Do you believe that there is some truth to the expression that styles are cyclical?

  6. What fads or trends do you remember from the 80's, 90’s? Are they experiencing a comeback? • Can following trends be detrimental to one’s wallet? • Is the need to ‘collect them all!’ influenced more by peer pressure or popular culture-or both?
