Phrases like "my background is..." or a list of all the companies for whom you have worked does not necessarily show what you can do for a new company.

Tell us who you need help with. Being specific will get you more help and more contacts. (You never know, who they know, unless you ask!)

However by listing a job title, that might limit you in the employer’s eyes, if they don't have a job with that title. Some people prefer to say how I help companies in the beginning and maybe give a job title at the end when they repeat their name.

CareerDFW Giving you the tools you need to find your next great opportunity Your 30 second introduction There is no right or wrong way to do this. You have to be comfortable with what you say and how you explain it to others. Catch phrases or slogans will help someone remember you.

Practice so you can feel comfortable enough look them in the eye, be aware of your surroundings and be able to smile while talking. Don’t forget to exchange business cards.
