Approach • Warm Nest – Cold Cheek • Push out, and make clear deals • Reflecting our interest in their success • UT takes shares ONLY if IP or finances or brought in • No unclear deals on lab use etc. • Fixed simple valuation • Attitude • Make a deal that is market conformal • respecting the publicly owned value that is transferred • accountable towards competitors
Separating interests • Entrepreneur and financer are the other parties at the table • Deals with UT-employees under the same conditions, and after OK • In or out (double appointments only allowed on temporary basis and under supervision) • IP revenue based on generally recognized split between UT, group and inventor • The rest on a normal participation basis • Shareholder is UT on behalf of internal parties
