Maratha Community Reservation Is Applicable For Medical Post Graduate Courses The prolonged demand of Maratha community reservation was approved in 2018 and the BJP Government under the leadership of Honourable Mr Devendra Fadnavis was appreciated for this decision. While the 16% reservation was offered to the Maratha community in education and services, the question was raised for the medical post graduate courses admission procedure of Maratha community students under the reservation quota. The Revenue Minister of Maharashtra Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil who happened to be the head of the Maratha Reservation Committee assured the students of the Maratha community for their Post Graduate courses admission under the reservation quota. Revenue Minister, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil informed that the decision of 16% Maratha Community reservation in medical Post Graduate courses will be continued. The State Government has taken the necessary steps for this. The technical issue was that the Maratha community reservation was sanctioned on 30th November 2018 and the Medical Post Graduate courses admission was initiated on 2nd November 2018. Due to this date trouble, the Maratha Reservation process was not considered reciprocal for the current year, but the
State Government has taken necessary steps in order to ensure the Maratha student’s admission for the Medical Post Graduation courses under the 16% reservation share. Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil further informed that the decision to offer reservation to the Maratha community was not any political agenda, but it was one of the missions of the BJP Government. Due to the efforts of the BJP Government under the headship of Honourable Chief Minister, Mr Devendra Fadnavis the establishment of the Maratha Reservation Commission was done. This commission worked exceptionally, and it received success in showing that the Maratha community deserves all the benefits as that of backward communities. In this situation, the 16% reservation was applicable to the Maratha Community students in education and services. But for the current year, 16% reservation decision was denied to the medical postgraduate courses due to technical reason. The Maratha students also reacted to this decision with a strike at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.
According to Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil, the technical issue is resolved now, and the Maratha students can take admission for medical postgraduate courses under the reservation quota. This decision has relieved Maratha students to a great extent. Maratha community reservation is one of the supreme achievements of the BJP Government in the previous term. The Agriculture and Revenue Minister of Maharashtra State, Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil is credible for this decision along with Honourable, Chief Minister. Shree Chandrakanta Patil supported Maratha Community students in this medical postgraduate courses admission’s matter. The decision to offer 16% reservation in medical admissions will also help the BJP Government, which was blamed and targeted by the opposition parties.
