In order for us to • achieve this, you need to be aware of my • class expectations, requirements, and grading policies. • EXPECTATIONS • Be on time. • Be prepared. (See supplies list.) • Be on task and participate fully. • Be considerate and respectful of other people’s property, time, feelings, and right to learn. • Be responsible for your actions and words. • To ensure that all students have a healthy, enjoyable • classroom that fosters learning, the above must be • demonstrated at all times. Should a student have • difficulty with any of the above, he/she will be assigned • after-school detention and/or written a referral • after sufficient reminders have been given Please • discuss with your student the importance of modeling • these expectations. • *All school rules are in effect at all times!!!! • Please contact me throughout the semester with any • questions or concerns .I am available for conferences • by appointment and I am very willing to return email or • phone calls to answer any concerns. • Regards, • Leslie Byrd (leslie.byrd@fcps.org) • PHONE: 240.566.9938 CLASSTUTORING Tuesday 2:15-3:00pm Room C210 The course will be divided into two week units which will have required and optional assignments to be completed in and or out of class, two quizzes, one test and lesson practice. Grades will be based on total points earned out of total possible points and will be accessible for students and parents via the Internet. http://apps.fcps.org/pivstatus.cfm Assignments are accepted for credit only on or by the due date unless you have been legally absent. In that case, assigned make-up work should be completed in a timely manner according to county policy (2 days for each day absent). If you miss a test or quiz due to an absence but were present when it was announced, you should be prepared to take that quiz or test on the day of your return. When reviewing grade updates, please be aware that according to FCPS policy, the following letter grades will correspond to the indicated percentages. A90% through 100% B80% through 89% C70% through 79% D60% through 69% Fbelow 60% The final course grade is based on 40% of Term 1 Grade, 40% of Term 2 Grade, and 20% of the Final Exam Grade.
