Organization,Voice-Kidspiration • Kidspiration allows students to visually explore and organize their thoughts. • “Research shows that visual learning is one of the best methods for teaching thinking skills. Visual learning techniques - graphical ways of working with ideas and presenting information - teach students to clarify their thinking and to process, organize and prioritize new information. ”

  3. You can use simple pictures with words to create a graphic of their writing. Or, you can have a template created for them. Kidspiration

  4. Within the Writing view they can hear the words that they are putting down. Kidspiration Writing View

  5. Kidpix With Kidpix you can create a story such as writing about a butterfly and illustrate it using the drawing tools and text tool. Then they create a presentation with the slide tool.

  6. Great Web Resources • Visions in all elementary Computer Labs • Youtube Videos • Story Bird- Story Bird uses art to inspire the student to write. They have beautiful pictures that and a template to create their own story. • Create a Newspaper Article with a newspaper generator. • Read Write Think provides online templates and lessons for students and teachers to use. • http://www.internet4classrooms.com/index.htm is a list of sites that provide specific help with writing conventions and lessons • Sheppard Software provides specific skill games for students

  8. Visions Lab Software • Send out files to all computers • Virtual Teacher on all computers in lab • Send out web addresses to all computers • Monitor all computers • Remote into the computer to help students with problems. • Also use Classroom “EYE” to lock student workstations.

YouTube and Educational Video Library • Acquire the web address of the Youtube video(from home). • Login into Eduphoria: HelpDesk and click Educational Video Library • Enter the web address(url) and submit. • You will receive a message from Eduphoria stating that your request has been approved or not approved.
