  2. Setting • The stories setting takes place in a trailer home in North Carolina. • Some of the story also takes place in the church across the street from the trailer park. • This book would be different if the setting wasn’t here because most of the important events happened in these settings.

  4. Conflict • The main conflict was that Kyra had been going out with Joshua almost every night. But she wasn’t allowed to, in her culture your mom would pick you husband and in her case she was supposed to be marring her 50 year old uncle. She kept it a secret from all her family . • It is a man to self conflict.

  5. Summary of Plot • Her mother is pregnant and very sick. She has been in bed rest for quite a while now. That is how Kyra is always able to sneak out and she never finds out. The first time they go out they go to the church across the street to practice playing the piano, and then they kiss. Then it is time for her mom to have her babies unfortunately the twins don’t make it mother is very upset, she says she has lost too many already. At the end Kyra ends up having to move and Joshua is so upset that he decides to run away and never come back.

  6. Theme • All problems can be solved no matter how bad they are. • Its ok, don’t worry we will figure this out. Page – 12 • We will solve it but no matter what, we will always be together. Page – 47 • It’s only a matter of time before they find out, but we will find a way to fix this. Page - 84

  7. Point of View • This is told from the point of view of Kyra. • It is told in first person.

  8. Symbolism • The symbolism throughout the book shows fear from Kyra. She is very scared and worried thought the book. She is worried for he mom and scared that someone will find out about Joshua.

  9. Recommendation • It is a good book to read because it has a lot of conflicts that are solved alone and it shows that all problems can be solved no matter how bad they are.
