Vocabulary • Tipton County’s Community Fund is NOT an affiliate of the United Way of America. • It Never Was, Even When it Briefly Used the Name “United Way”. • United Fund is NOT a Protected Brand Name and is Used by Us and a Few Others in Indiana. • We ARE Members of the Indiana Association of United Ways and Receive Terrific Benefits~ BUT We CANNOT Use the National Marketing Materials, Including Their Logo.

What Else Does the United Way/ Community Fund Experience Teach Us? • Decline in workplace giving • Competition grows exponentially • Donor choice • Educating the public • Technology makes giving easy • “Middle man” role and “one campaign for all” no longer valued as highly • Leadership givers want results!

  10. What is Community Impact? • Civic Engagement (T3) • Mobilizing communities to create sustained changes to improve lives. • Is not just about improving lives of clients of funded programs. • Is about improving lives of people affected by the community’s priority issues.

  11. Campaign 2008 “Connecting People to Causes That Matter” Promotional brochure makes the case for support of the program outcomes of participating agencies and TCF field of interest funds. Mailed to every household and business First week of September 11
