Cont… • Accreditation council can start as a part of the UGC which will finally be an independent body composed of the following: UGC chairman / representative-chairman Rep. of public university Rep. of private university Rep. of professional bodies Rep. of industry – chamber of commerce
Cont… Functions • Quality Assurance Cell (QAC) is responsible for promoting public confidence that the quality and standard of the award of degrees are enhanced and safeguarded. • QAC is responsible for the review of quality standards and the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.
Cont… • QAC is responsible for the review of academic affiliations with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs. • QAC is responsible for defining clear and explicit standards as points of reference to the reviews to be carried out.
