Network need - Narval run in its own CSNSM administrated network -Need to see the host laboratory throught one machine -This machine should see the GRID -All NARVAL managed machines (PC-DAQ BOX) will be in the containair-messhute -Went to see GSI IT departement
LINUX side Linux experts said : Gateway that is administered by AGATA and registered as a trusted computer in GSI would be fine, Can connect to the Daq box and from GSI has access to the word, internet and GSI network. Normal procedure like bringing any IT equipment in GSI has to be followed (just register the mac address). If the device is a security would be disconnected from the network The experts are : Christopher Huhn and Stefan Haller : C.Huhn@gsi.de, S.Haller@gsi.de
Network side Network expert: here no problem from his side until I told him we need access to the GRID too. If we want to use the GRID then we need high rate transfert and we could use the "HEPI" zone of the GSI DMZ. HEPI being a very high rate network for High Energy Physics in Germany and if I understood equivalent networks in other european countries will join it so this could be a solution. We needed to wait September for Olivier Wirths to get more info on HEPI We should go to see him soon again, The contact person is Olivier Wirths: O.Wirth@gsi.de
GRID side Grid access : here I definitively need more information from the AGATA side!!! What is planned to do for AGATA at GSI with GRID GRID GSI managed by ALICE and will not do too much for us Two option a) we need the GRID access only to transfert data from here to some storage centers and in the other way → no problem but I need to know commands used in Legnaro b) we want full access and functionality of the GRID using the GSI batch farm etc... in a different flavor and here → harder and requires some political discussion. Could you confirm it is just option a) and who shall I talk to?

Trigger specific AGATA@FRS is AGATA+LYCCA+FRS+HECTOR + (MINIBALL) FRS+LYCCA && (HECTOR || AGATA || HECTOR) • “good event” being FRS+LYCCA+gamma in any gamma detector it • We will have event without AGATA but needing AGAVA (Hector-FRS) • Trigger hardware needs reduction for some ancillary (HECTOR-FRS) • We will have tracking event alone (normalization, LYCCA calibration…) • Calibration triggers of subsystem, in coupled DAQ? Question : • how can we configure the trigger processor to do that? • Can we have different trigger type (1=FRS, 2FRS+AGATA, 3FRS+Hector) or at least (AGAVA Ancs request AGATA and AGAVA Ancs does not) • which influence on the data-flow (each side wants to be able to get the full data, this means calibration too) • how the GTS tree should be built? 07/09/11 Stephane Pietri - GSI 10
