I want a twitter, and I want it now!!! Setting up a twitter!
Getting started is not hard at all……… Go to twitter.com and sign up for an account Start “following” people -get into the habit of reading their “tweets” How to follow: -go to a person’s twitter page -decide if you want to add them to your timeline (#TL) or not -click the “follow” button toward the top left
How do I ? Tweet Tweeting is easy!! Simply say whatever is on your mind and enter it into the box located at the top of your twitter page. You have about 140 characters to work with unless the app you are using includes twitlonger, which enables you to post longer tweets.
Trending Topics #nf Random topics are selected daily and grouped together as a “trending topic” using the hashtags (#) or you can just use it leisurely with words or phrases that are common #facts #msu #oomf #followback #winning
Mentions Mentions are simply speaking directly to a user. This is how you tweet one another as well as reply to different tweets you may come across on your timeline. In order to do this you post the @ symbol before entering their username. Retweets To repost a message from another Twitter user, and share it with you or own followers you simple use the retweet button. It will post with “RT” in front of it symbolizing that it is indeed a retweet versus your own personal tweet.
What you should know about social bookmarking! Social bookmarking is the practice of saving bookmarks to a public Web site and “tagging” them with keywords. Bookmarking, on the other hand, is the practice of saving the address of a Web site you wish to visit in the future on your computer. To create a collection of social bookmarks, you register with a social bookmarking site, which lets you store bookmarks, add tags of your choice, and designate individual bookmarks as public or private. Some sites periodically verify that bookmarks still work, notifying users when a URL no longer functions. Visitors to social bookmarking sites can search for resources by keyword, person, or popularity and see the public bookmarks, tags, and classification schemes that registered users have created and saved.
