  5. Acid-Fast Stain • 1. Carbolfuchsin • Use steam heat for 5 minutes • 2. Cool for 1 minute - rinse with water and remove paper towel • 3. Rinse with Acid-Alcohol 1 second – rinse with water 15 seconds - rinse with water • 4. Counter stain with Methylene Blue - 1 minute • Rinse with water

  6. Acid- Fast Cells Red • Non Acid-Fast Cells Blue
