  2. Evaluations • 1. We are looking to pilot software (Stages) next year in 8 schools. The schools were chosen from members of the Admin and/Teacher Evaluation Committee and those that expressed interest. • 2. The committee will continue to meet and will make recommendations including a weighted rating formula.

  3. Danielson Recommendations • Highly Effective Rating: at least 2 to 3 domains highly effective with the remaining effective • Effective: No more than one domain minimally effective with the remaining effective or highly effective

  4. Minimally Effective: two or more minimally effective. • Ineffective: Any standard rated ineffective

  5. 3. Evaluations and Relatives (1st cousin, child, brother, etc). Please contact HR for support. • 4. Standards for effective teaching rubric and faculty meetings

  6. Danielson I-observation technique • 1. Verbatim, scripting of teacher or student comments • 2. non-evaluative statements of observed teacher and student behavior. • 3. Quantitative Data, time on task, assessment etc. • 4. Environmental observations

  7. Evaluator Rater Reliability • We will view two or three clips. We will have a table discussion. • We will vote using poll everywhere.com - You will get one vote per table. • Please justify your reasons using the chart paper • We will then have a whole group discussion as we do a share out.

  8. Rate the Lesson • Based on what you will observe of the lesson, how would your rate the teacher? (understanding that this is just a snapshot) • Highly Effective • Effective • Minimally Effective • Ineffective

  9. 7th Grade Language Arts Class Objective: Students will learn comprehension techniques and think aloud strategies Teacher models using historic pictures to access background knowledge First Clip

  10. First Clip • Teacher purposefully points out tricky words via modeling comprehension techniques • Students think aloud for their peers using what she calls a fish bowl technique • During this technique she provides guided instruction where needed.

  11. Observations • What are the strengths? • What are the weaknesses? • What do you still wonder after viewing a snapshot of the lesson? What questions? • What recommendations might you have?

  12. 2nd Clip • Kindergarten teacher • She will explain the lesson plan implementation and the objective • Objective: Students will count the number of objects in a box and write that number. • Students will also put objects in order on a number line. • Students will fill in a blank with out a number line.

  13. 3rd Clip • 8th Grade Algebra Class • Objective: Students will factor and solve problems using a generic rectangle.
