Core 40 Diploma Requirements 40 credits minimum 8 credits of English (English 9, 10, American Lit, Composition & Speech) 6 credits of Math (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II) 6 credits of Science (Biology, Chemistry or ICP, and an additional year) 6 credits of Social Studies (World & US History, Government & Economics) 2 credits of Physical Education 1 credit of Health 5 Directed Electives (Fine Arts, World Language, Career/Tech) 6 Electives
Academic Honors Diploma Requirements 47 credits minimum Core 40 Diploma Requirements, in addition to: 2 additional math credits 2 Fine Arts credits 4 credits of 2 World Languages OR 6 credits of 1 World Language
Additional Academic Honors Requirements • Earn a C- or higher in all classes • 3.0 GPA or above at graduation • Complete 1 of the following: • Earn 4 credits in 2 or more Advanced Placement (AP) classes with the corresponding exams • Earn 6 transcripted college credits in PRIORITY dual credit classes • Vocational are priority level dual credit classes; as are most VHS dual credit classes • Earn 4 credits in 2 or more International Baccalaureate (IB) classes with the corresponding exams • Earn a composite of 1250 on the SAT with a minimum 560 on math and 590 on reading comprehension • Earn a composite score of 26 or higher on the ACT with Writing
Additional Academic Honors Requirements (Cont.) • If a student does not successfully complete one of the options listed on the previous slide, then the student must earn 2 of the following: • Minimum of 3 transcripted PRIORITY level dual credits • 2 credits in AP classes with the corresponding AP exams • 2 credits in IB classes with the corresponding IB exams
Technical Honors Diploma 47 credit minimum No grade lower than a C- in classes Meet Core 40 Diploma requirements, in addition to: 6-8 credits in College and Career Pathway classes 5-7 Elective credits Earn 6 credits in College and Career prep courses in a State approved College and Career Pathway AND one of the following: A. State approved, industry recognized certification credential OR B. Pathway dual credits from the approved dual credit list resulting in 6 transcripted college credits

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma The IB Diploma is a two-year program beginning in the 11th grade, but suggested/prerequisite coursework begins during the 9th and 10th grade years. IB is designed for a variety of learners and is highly regarded by most colleges. Some universities award up to 28 college credits plus scholarships for students who earn an IB Diploma. International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma The IB Diploma requires students to test in each of the 6 subject areas: GROUP 1: ENGLISH GROUP 2: WORLD LANGUAGES GROUP 3: INDIVIDUALS AND SOCIETIES GROUP 4: EXPERIMENTAL SCIENCES GROUP 5: MATHEMATICS GROUP 6: THE ARTS
