PC1 – Sanitary Tapware The Product Commission basically is concentrating its efforts in the following areas: • Regulation: • CPD/CPR • Drinking Water • Energy – Water • Energy related products: Ecodesign – Directives and tools • Scarcity & Droughts – Policy's & Directives? • Market / Marketing: • General view for each country • Counterfeiting. • Standardization: • CEN /TC 164/ WG3 • CEN /TC164/ WG8 PC1- CT1

PC1 – Sanitary Valves Regulation • CPD/ CPR : Follow up of revision of CPD into CPR • Focus on main difficulties ( CE marking, content of declaration of performance) • Update about stakeholders positions ( Council, Parliament, Commission, Trade Association) • Political agreement reach at the Competitiveness Council ( May 10) • Main actors: Mrs Paola Capellini & MrsStéphanieUny (Orgalime)/ Mr. Bochaton ( Profuid)

PC1 – Sanitary Valves Regulation • Drinking Water : Follow up of DW aspects and reaction of members states • Follow-up decisions taken by the DG Envi referring to the abandonment of the EAS for the 4 MS’s work and its impact on member states: • CEIR letter to DG Envi through Aqua Europa • Netherlands initiative and the SWITZERLAND reaction • Change the position in CEPMC ( Mr. Bouchaton by MrsMaquennehan) • Try return to EAS • Cooperation and analysis 4 MS’s work • Work on a comparative spreadsheet about main European practices • Update on 4MS works • Update on M/136 revision • Invitation given to KIWA to present future extension of NL’s law • Main actors: MrsStéphanieUny (Orgalime)/ Mr. Pardal( PC1)/ Mr. Martin & Mr. Bochaton ( CT1)

PC1 – Sanitary Valves Market/ Marketing • Through the Steering Committee and the national association we will go to develop a General View of the market that will be updated each year Counterfeiting • Follow-up European initiatives • Discussion about advantages and disadvantages of “ origin marking”. European Quality Alliance • Main actors: National Secretaries (MS)/ Mr. Pardal( PC1)/ Mr. Pettinaroli (PC2)/ Mr. Vinzio ( PC3)

PC1 – Sanitary Valves Standardization • CEN/TC164/WG3 • Update about « effects of materials in contact with drinking water » standards • Reflection about « nickel » issue : • A long term test standard will be adopted, with mandatory certification in some territories ; is there any alternative? • Close attention to the links between 4MS – Commission – WG3, in relation with M/136 • Main actors: Mr. Bochaton ( CT1)
