New “Operator Pages”PHMSA’s Stakeholder Communications website Pipeline Safety Trust Conference November 5, 2010 New Orleans, LA Jeff Wiese, Associate Administrator, Office of Pipeline Safety, PHMSA Christie Murray, National CATS Coordinator, PHMSA
Introduction • Purpose: introduce the new Operator-based reports • Currently there is no reasonable way to see an “Operator-centric” set of data • Fills a “hole” in site usability by the general public • Just recently rolled-out on PHMSA’s site • PST Conference is first formal presentation • Future enhancements planned
Overview of Operator Reports • These pages pull together information from various site pages to “integrate” for a given OPID/Operator: • Mileage data • Products handled • States of operation • Incidents • Federal enforcement info • Federal inspection info
Overview of Operator Reports • Only Trunklines/Transmission/Gas Gathering Operators • Hazardous Liquid (includes gathering) • Gas Transmission • Gas Gathering • NOT Gas Distribution • Differentiates Federally-inspected from State-inspected mileage • Incidents (Serious & Significant) for Fed-inspected or State-inspected • ONLY Federal inspections and enforcement data • State enforcement data on “State Pages” with other State-specific data: (http://primis.phmsa.dot.gov/comm/states.htm?nocache=3131)
