Location: • In the Yezreel Valley in the north of Israel, in the outskirts of Nazareth
Nazareth • 70,000 habitants • mixed population of Arabs both Christian and Muslims, and Jews • biblical roots • attracts Christian, Muslim and Jewish tourists
YVC • 5,000 students • Young establishment • Was created as a ramification of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem; now independent. • Very dynamic • Expanding
the ESPMH conference at YVC • Could be an important contribution to the development of bioethics in YVC. • Could contribute to the awareness of medical ethics in Israel, as it will attract to YVC professionals within the medical and health care professions from all over the country. • Nazareth and the north-east of Israel has a mixed population of Arabs and Jews; there are many health care establishments in the area which may send delegates to the conference.
Institutional support • A complex of two new buildings that comprise three auditoriums and many class-rooms of different sizes. • appropriate to both central lectures and parallel sessions (as usual in ESPMH conferences). • All the class-rooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped for presentations. • Catering for the conference is available and (conveniently) served in the same building complex.
Accommodation • Nazareth offers hotels of various levels, from luxurious to budget
One hotel is conveniently located 5-10 minutes walk from YVC.
There is good public transport between YVC and Nazareth. • A shuttle could be arranged twice a day from/to YVC and hotels.
Travel information: how to get to Nazareth • By air: • Ben Gurion international airport • Around 50 international airlines • There is public transportation from BG to YVC. • A shuttle from/to the airport could be arranged on the first/last day of the conference
City tours, tours to the Sea of Galilee and other historical locations in the north of Israel can be arranged upon request.
While in Israel I would (also) suggest visiting Jerusalem and the Dead Sea
