Associationfor Lifelong Learning National network of grassroot NGO’s with combined social and economic purposes, from ’98 operated as Hungarian Association of Welfare Service Foundations Aiming at social inclusion and activation 2006 – shift of focus on lifelong learning Development of „Learning Partnership Initiative” as one of the first significant joint actions
Project Background in Hungary Weak points in the field of LLL and key competencies • Lowest level of participation in adult education compared to the EU-27, it is particularly a problem among the population with low level of education, elderly and unemployed • Imbalanced situation regarding the various levels of education and in regional aspects, lack of AE infrastructure • The level of basic skills of low educational attainment is deeply under the EU average (ALL) • Lack of public resources, low level of participation of the business sector and private individuals in financing the costs of LLL • Too much focus on formal qualification and accreditations, lack of acknowledgement of non-formal and informal learning
