  1. 1. Please have these Items on your desk. ScienceStarters Sheet Density Displacement Lab Agenda Wednesday 9/18/19 Day 2 2- Fill out your Agenda. Science Starter- List three items that you would like to invent What is the formula for density?

  3. Rectangular Solids 1.6cm x 1.3cm x 4.1cm = 8.528 cm3 8.5 cm3 cm cm cm cm3 x x = Height Length Width

  4. Displacement method Irregular Solids Because the hammer is solid, we use cm3! 69 mL 65 mL Volume of Hammer? 4 mL or 4 cm3

  5. Calculating density is simple! • Measure the mass. • Measure the volume. • Divide. Mass (grams) Say “per” Density = Volume (cm3) The units that we use for density are grams/cm3

  6. Density Displacement Lab • While you are in your seat, create your hypothesis. • At the lab station you will find 6 items to measure. • Using the measurement methods you have just learned, decide what you need to do. • Create your procedure’s. Wait for Mrs.’s Morrison to give you approval to start the lab.
