  2. Who am I? • Growing up, my dad watched ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings but I thought it was boring! • He also watched 60 Minutes which always prompted my sister and I to leave the room.

  3. Getting my news…then • In college, the news I was interested in had to do with music and concerts. • I got my news from Rolling Stone, Spin, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

  6. Why this class? Current Issues I am most interested in… • Locally: education, medicinal marijuana • Nationally: childhood obesity & the politics of food • Internationally: Sudan, China • Without knowing the ins and outs of current issues, it is impossible to make this world a better place.
