  2. What is Career Cruising? • It is an internet-based career exploration and planning tool. • It is used by students to explore careerand college options. • It helps students develop a career plan. • It can be accessed from school or home!

  3. What are the features of the program? • Interest and Skills Assessment • College Exploration • Career Profiles • Multimedia Interviews • Individual Learning Plan • Resume Builder

  4. Why use Career Cruising? • Students across Kentucky are now required to complete an Individual Learning Plan (ILP). • The ILP is completed by using Career Cruising • It begins in 6th grade and continues through high school • You can even use it throughout college! ILP

  5. What are the ILP requirements for 7th graders in Career Cruising? • Career Matchmaker (Complete a new Matchmaker Session!) • My Skills • Learning Styles • Careers that Interest Me • Schools that Interest Me • Career Cluster Interests • Organization & Activities • Annual ILP Review (complete with teacher after ILP is at 66%) • Annual Student Survey (Complete last)

  6. Begin Career Cruising by … • Going to internet address: www.careercruising.com/ilp • Typing your ten-digituser name and six-digitpassword provided on your access card • Click Log In

  7. 7th Grade ILP Homepage First Click Check your ILP status to get to 100% 1 2 3 4 5

Complete Your Career Matchmaker! • On your ILP Homepage under Quick Links click on Things to Remember and read the information • At the bottom of that page click on About the ILP and read the instructions • Go back to your Homepage and click the blue Career Cruising and click Career Matchmaker • Click the grey New Matchmaker Session button in the middle • Answer All Questions and click Review My Answers to update your choices • Always click SAVE TO MY ILP • Review your TOP 40 careers listed

  9. Click here to answer more questions to update your TOP 40 career choices ALWAYS click SAVE TO MY ILP!

  10. What are your top career matches? • Click on your top four careers from the 40 listed and SAVE TO MY ILP • Review each of the careers finding out what the job description is, earnings, education required, etc…. • Complete the graphic organizer that you will get from the teacher

How do yousaveyour results? • Click on the SAVE TO MY ILP button near the bottom of the menu on the right hand side of the page • Click a check mark on Yes, I have reviewed and revised this portion of my ILP, click OK • Click save again which will begin the completion process of your ILP • Continue to complete tabs listed on slide 7 and sub buttons • Click Logouton your ILP homepageat the end of class before you log off your computer
