  1. Scanning Documents and Uploading to Career Cruising

  2. WHY? • Students will present work from each year of their educational career to a panel at the end of senior year. • You are starting to upload those assignments into Career Cruising and will do so throughout your senior year. • Included are teacher choices and student choices of best work and work that you would like to showcase.

  3. Before you begin . . . • Complete the Artifact Cover Sheet by checking each box that applies to the assignment. • There are only FIVE scanners. Sit at the computers with the red tags that say “SCANNER”. If you cannot find the HP Solution Center icon, you are probably at a computer NOT attached to a scanner.

  4. Put your documents in order 1) Cover Sheet 2) Artifact 3) Rubric • Place the first page on the glass, print down.

  5. Click on HP Solution Center Click on “Scan Document”

  6. Highlight “Document to PDF File” Click on “Change Settings” on the lower right.

  7. Click on “Save to file Save Options.”

  8. Rename artifact in “Base File Name”. Example: G9, S1, Alg, Error Analysis Click on “Browse.”

  9. SAVING Select the place where you want to save your scanned artifact. Until your S drive is available, your options are to save to the Desktop or to a Flash Drive (E). Choose Desktop or (E). 1 a) If you save to the desktop, email your document to your school email. 2) Click “OK”

  10. Click “Scan”

  11. You can rotate the page using “View” • Check the image for accuracy.

  12. Place page 2 print side down on the glass • Click “Add Page(s)” • Continue adding pages until all are scanned

  13. When you have scanned ALL pages, click on “Finish” and your file will save to your chosen location from a previous step. **It will fail to save if you have not chosen desktop or the (E) **Desktop documents will erase upon restart – email them to yourself.

  14. Check your flash drive to see if your artifact saved. Rename if you have not already. Email it to yourself if you need to. • Examples: G9, S1, English, Persuasive Essay • G11, S2, Physics, Final Exam • Log onto Career Cruising. • Follow these steps: • 1) “Portfolio” • 2) “My files” • 3) “Add new file” • 4) upload your saved artifact. • K.
