  5. UWGEC response to 2005 Report in AY 2006-07 • Created Diversity Emphasis option by including sexual orientation • Created Review Process for Tier I and Tier II Courses (to be reported on by T. Fleming) • GENED Web site enhanced with more information for faculty and students • Approved pilot trial for incoming Honors Students to take additional Tier II class in lieu of Tier I class in all strands • Undergraduate Second Language Options Approved • Recommended Standard Syllabus for GENED courses approved

UWGEC Response to 2005 Report in AY 2007-08 • Improved clarity of expected overall outcomes for GENED • Honors pilot approved for fall 2008 • Developed improved procedure for submittal of new GENED courses • Worked with Faculty Senate GENED task force to place UWGEC under governance of Faculty Senate • Three units of ensemble courses recognized as equivalent of Tier II Arts • Review of 20% of Tier I courses initiated • Revised wording on UWGEC governance prepared for consideration of Faculty Senate

Review of Tier I courses • Procedures • 21 Tier 1 Courses selected at random • Syllabi and TCE data were reviewed • Results • 3 courses no longer taught (removed) • 15 courses in compliance with Tier 1 learning goals • 3 course not in compliance • Current status • Another 19 Tier 1 courses were selected for review • Review process is currently on hold
