  1. Biblical Time Line AscensionRapture Return ParenthesisEternal The Law (Church Age) Trib. Kingdom State OT NT 7 years 1,000 years Day of the Lord

  2. Conditions in the New Jerusalem Home… Forever! Revelation 21:9-22:11 gives us an idea of what it will be like in our future home.

  3. Revelation 21:9 Home… Forever! The same angel who brought judgment now brings blessing. Having destroyed wicked Babylon, the angel now shows John God’s city.

  4. Revelation 21:9 Home… Forever! The city for the Lamb’s bride now descends from heaven. We will forever enjoy the fellowship of God in our new home.

  5. Revelation 21:10 Home… Forever! Instead of the wilderness, John is now taken to a great, high mountain. Remember, at the end of the Tribulation, mountains were flattened.

  6. Revelation 21:11-13 Home… Forever! The structure of the New Jerusalem along with the light from the glory of God creates a stunning sight like a massive, shining, diamond-like jewel!

  7. Revelation 21:11-13 - Safety Home… Forever! Whatever else may be true, high, massive walls with gates and angels at the gates certainly creates a sense of safety and security.

  8. Revelation 21:11-13 - Faithfulness Home… Forever! As the New Jerusalem is entered, the constant reminder is present that God has been faithful to Israel as Yahweh, the covenant-keeping God!

  9. Revelation 21:14-21 - Awesome Home… Forever! The sheer size is overwhelming. Space within the city will not be a concern. The adornment is not necessary except to impress us with the sense of splendor and magnificence. The radiance will be beyond words!

  10. Revelation 21:9 Home… Forever! The city for the Lamb’s bride now descends from heaven. We will forever enjoy the fellowship of God in our new home.

  11. Revelation 21:9 From David Pawson

  12. Revelation 21:9 Home… Forever! The city for the Lamb’s bride now descends from heaven. We will forever enjoy the fellowship of God in our new home.

  13. Revelation 21:22 – Intimate, personal Home… Forever! We will not need to “go to God”. He will be there.

  14. Revelation 21:23 – Bright, exciting Home… Forever! We will never tire. We will not need sleep. Night and darkness will not be a part of our existence. The Light of the world is now our Light!

  15. Revelation 21:24-26 – Bright, exciting Home… Forever! “Of the saved” is not in the original. Nations of humans with unglorified bodies, but perfect like Adam and Eve, will honor the Lord with their “glory and honor”. These are probably saints from the Millennium who will procreate and populate the New Earth.

  16. Revelation 21:27 – Pure Home… Forever! No one will ever be there who does anything wrong. Justice and purity will forever be a part of our existence. This is yet another reason to never again fear.

  17. Revelation 22:1-2 – The River of Life Home… Forever! While darkness and water will not cover the landscape, there is water. It may provide refreshment, but the River “symbolizes the everlasting enjoyment of God and the life of God that will flow to all people.” TGNTC p. 1330

  18. Revelation 22:1-2 – The River of Life Home… Forever! The Tree of Life is found on either side of the River. The fruit is only for Overcomers (2:7), but the leaves work to heal the nations. It may be that people in their natural bodies will still experience injury.

  19. Revelation 22:3a – The Curse is gone Home… Forever! Production of food, childbirth, and such will be a joy. Work and childbearing will take on new meaning. Creativity and productivity will be much different than today.

  20. Rev. 22:3b-5 – Eternal Joy in Serving Home… Forever! Overcomers will literally see the face of God and serve Him in countless tasks, never tiring, never bored, forever reminded that they are His.

  21. Rev. 22:3b-5 – Eternal Joy in Serving Home… Forever! Believers will reign just as God had intended at the beginning. Gen. 1:27 His purposes are realized. Satan has lost. This is your future! Rev. 22:6

  22. Rev. 22:3b-5 – Eternal Joy in Serving Home… Forever! Reigning with Christ Rev. 22:5; 2:25-27; 3:21; Matt. 25:14-19; Lk. 19:15-19; Rom. 8:17; 2 Tim. 2:12

  23. Rev. 22:6-7 – Conclusion Home… Forever! Obedience to this book is important. From God’s perspective, this happens “quickly”, emphasized by the finality and completeness of the judgment. No one is guaranteed tomorrow and should not read this flippantly.

  24. Rev. 22:8-10 – Conclusion Home… Forever! This is a significant, understandable book and should not be ignored! We should be careful to never confuse the messenger with the Author. Wonderful interpretation comes from wonderful material and is not the product of the one giving the message.

  25. Rev. 22:10 – Conclusion Home… Forever! Irony. “If that’s what you want to do, do it!”

  26. Rev. 22:12 – Conclusion Home… Forever! What we do as believers matters. 2 Cor. 5:10-11 “Quickly” Not only is the time for our world short, but the time of our lives are unknown. Once something is over, the wait always seems short.

  27. Rev. 22:12-13 – Conclusion Home… Forever! The One who judges lives forever and reigns over heaven and earth. He sees all and will judge with fairness, mercy, and justice.

  28. Rev. 22:14 – Conclusion Home… Forever! As such, obedience matters! “Gates” Honor and authority. 2 Pet. 1:11

  29. Rev. 22:15 – Conclusion Home… Forever! This may mean unbelievers will never enter the New Jerusalem. Or, it may be one of the many contrasts between the faithful and unfaithful believer throughout the NT, just as in Rev. 3:16

  30. Rev. 22:15 – Conclusion Home… Forever! Whatever else is true, the New Jerusalem will be a place of the enjoyment and honor of the righteous.

  31. Rev. 22:16 – Conclusion Home… Forever! This message is for us and comes from the One who is the fulfillment of the promises to Israel.

  32. Rev. 22:17 – Conclusion Home… Forever! Whatever v. 15 means all who believe are assured. As this dramatic book closes, God once again affirms grace!

  33. Rev. 22:18-19 – Conclusion Home… Forever! Verse 17 is helpful in giving us perspective on these verses. Verse 18 should read “may God…” It is not a prediction but an imprecation. “People who mess with this book deserve judgment like this!”

  34. Rev. 22:18-19 – Conclusion Home… Forever! Verse 19 = “tree of life,” not “book of life.” Disobedience brings loss of reward. These closing words do not involve one’s eternal life.

  35. Rev. 22:20-21 – Conclusion Home… Forever! How appropriate that the book would close with a wish that the Lord would come soon and for grace to be ours!

  36. Rev. 22:20-21 – Conclusion Home… Forever! With what we face in life and the consequences of our actions described in this book, we need grace!
