1. CLASSIFICATION: AP-010-089 2. TITLE OF REFERRAL: Name Change for Food Marketing and Agribusiness Management Department (FMAM). 3. BACKGROUND:The College of Agriculture requests to change the name of the FMAM Department to the Agribusiness and Food Industry Management/Ag Education Department. 4. RECOMMENDED RESOURCES:Jean Gipe, Claudia Pinter-Lucke, Nancy Merlino, Lester Young.
5. DISCUSSION: The Senate approved last year a name change for the degree program and this request will align the Department’s name with the degree. The name change will also align the program with other CSU agribusiness programs and will increase students’ career opportunities. The Department conducted a survey of its students and alumni and their comments are positive and encourage the change. • 6. RECOMMENDATION: The Academic Programs Committee recommends approval of the referral Ap-010- 089 Name Change for Food Marketing and Agribusiness management Department to Agribusiness and Food Industry Management/Ag Education Program.
