  8. Right-to-Repair Policy ORIGINAL INTENT Auto manufacturers would be required to provide the same diagnostic repair information to independent repair shopsthat is currently accessed by dealers. REAL INTENT To force manufacturers to provide specific parts design and software codes that would allow aftermarket retailers to make and sell duplicate parts.
