Blood thirsty mob made up Parisians like the national guard and the lower classes, made up of around 600-1000 (insurgents) . They were looking for prisoners and weapons to fight in the battle against foreign troops that was said were coming to massacre them. 1)The attackers of the Bastille were French citizens

When the mob arrived it required weapons from the soldiers to resist the rumored invaders. During the fight 98 casualties happened , but they eventually pressed through and over ran the Bastille.
