SGUSD My Math Homework Tips • Be the “ the Guide from the Side” and not “the Sage on the Stage.” • Let your child “show, share and express” the process learned in class to you. It may differ from your time as a student. • Do not feel that you need to re-teach your child. • Homework is an opportunity to practice skills introduced or reviewed in class each day. • Is your child stuck? Encourage him/her to show you where help can be found on-line. Let your child be the problem solver. • These resources will be shared at the end of our presentation.
New SGUSD Elementary Math Curriculum in 2015-16 • McGraw Hill – My Math • On-Line Program: ConnectED account for student access at school and home • Your child will receive a Username and Password from their teacher. Please be patient as we finalize class rosters to establish these accounts.
My Math Student On-Line Edition • Let’s explore the Student On-Line Edition • Note that your student will not have home access to the on-line edition without a username or password. • The slides that follow are screen shots of some features you may wish your child to explore at home
