ATIS’ Packet Technologies and Systems Committee (PTSC) • Created Joint common specifications with TIA and others intended to serve as “safe harbor” • American National Standard (ANS) J-STD-025 in 1997 … circuit-switched PSTN • ANS J-STD-025-A in 2003 … plus “punch list items” • ANS J-STD-025-B (under development) … packet-switched GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications

ATIS’ Packet Technologies and Systems Committee (PTSC) • American National Standards (ANS) T1.678 – LAES for Voice over Packet Technologies in Wireline Telecommunications Networks • Included by reference in pending ANS J-STD-025-B • Focus on basic call control for Voice Services over IP • ASN.1 modules may be imported by other standards • ANS T1.678 (version 2) Approved • Focus on multi-party call control • (transfer, conferencing, …) • Continues to support message headers compatible with ANS J-STD-025, or – alternately – with ANS SCTE 24-13 2001 GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications
