Chapter 14 Discussion Questions • When Scout and Dill are lying in bed talking, Scout says that adults “don’t get around to doin’ what they say they’re gonna do half the time.” Do you agree? Why or why not?
Scout asks Dill why he supposes Boo Radley never ran off. Dill signed and said, “maybe he doesn’t have anywhere to run to…” What do you think of this? Do you think he is right? How might Dill be thinking of himself when he says this?
Dill says he ran away from home because “they (his mother and stepfather) just wasn’t interested in me.” How do you feel about this? Does it change the way you think of Dill? Do you feel sorry for him? Is this an adequate reason to run away?
