Partners History • 2005 CAP program • 2006 – Office for Learning &Technology and partners trained and placed 10 accessible computers in Elder’s homes • 2006-2008 – Footprints to Technology & Employ-Ability 12 week pre-employment program for adults with disabilities on and off reserve; over 130 served
Community Navigator, new 2008 • For Aboriginals with Disabilities on Reserve • Community Navigators - Recruit and train Aboriginal Peers and Elders to provide Peer Support • Help link Aboriginals on Reserve with community and Band services
Community Navigators – Year 1 • Establish Community Advisory Committee mandate • Develop infrastructure, training and marketing materials • Train Community Navigators (3 – 5 per session)

Year 1 • Serve 20 Aboriginals with Disabilities on the Penticton Indian Band (PIB) • Liaison with community organizations and PIB’s Social Development Office • Survey results and develop best practices
Community Navigators – Year 2 • Begin scaling program to engage other bands in the Okanagan area • Increase the number of Community Navigators in other communities • Serve an additional 40 Aboriginals with Disabilities throughout the Okanagan
Community Navigators – Year 3 • Engage all bands in the Okanagan Nation Alliance • Ensure there are Community Navigators in all communities • Serve an additional 50 Aboriginals with Disabilities throughout the Okanagan
Tracking and Reporting • Navigator Hours & Outcomes • Client Hours & Outcomes • Incoming Call Tracking • Community Advisory Minutes • Contact with the Community • Who, Where, Why, What Services they provide, etc
