  3. Local Transport Plan • 15 year time horizon • Delivering sustainable economic growth • Focus on County’s growth areas • 5 year Implementation Plans • Delivery dependent on funding levels

  4. Bexhill Hastings Link Road • Construction started early 2013 • Completed Spring 2015 • Unlocks up to 2,000 new homes and 50,000sqm of employment space • Creates 3,000 jobs

Local Sustainable Transport Fund • Awarded £3.8m; mix of capital and revenue • Funding for Lewes, Newhaven & Eastbourne • Five elements: • Marketing & promotions • Real time passenger information • Walking and cycling infrastructure • Bike It programme • Wheels to Work and Education • Deliver programme by March 2015

Local Transport Infrastructure • Cycling • NCN2 Bulverhythe Link • Sovereign Harbour to Eastbourne town centre cycle route (2nd phase) • NCN2 Bishopstone - missing cycle link • Linking Communities Fund: Ringmer – Lewes • Developing cycle strategies for Hastings and Rother • Developing LSTF cycle packages for Eastbourne, Newhaven and Lewes

Local Transport Infrastructure • Developing proposals for Hailsham –Eastbourne sustainable transport corridor • Developing Hailsham town centre package – development contributions available • Uckfield town centre package – start early 2014 • Eastbourne Terminus Road improvements • 16 Speed Management schemes in rural settlements since 2012

Local Plan Infrastructure Delivery Plans • Sets out infrastructure required to support housing & employment growth in Local Plans • Transport is a significant infrastructure requirement – evidence based • Ongoing work with Borough/Districts on identifying infrastructure & updating on progress, costs etc • Help support CIL development

Changing Times • South East Local Transport Board • Allocated £66m for 2015/16 to 18/19 • Prioritised funding for A21 Baldslow link (£15m) & A22/A27 junction improvement package (£4m) • SELEP • Single Local Growth Fund - £2bn pa for 6 years from 2015/16 • DfT funding: significant proportion • Strategic Economic Plan

Highways Agency • A21 Tonbridge to Pembury • A27 improvement feasibility study – scope? • Route Based Strategies • South Coast Central and Kent Corridor to M25 • Two stages: • October 13 - March ‘14: Evidence gathering • March 14 - March 15: indicative solutions • Inform HA’s investment plans post 2015 • HA will be reformed
