What theme or thread stuck out to you? • What gives you hope and what disturbed you most? • What spiritual practice(s) connected best with you? Which one(s) would you want to continue practicing or even share with others? • Where do you see God at work in our own story? In your story?
Wrap-Up COURSE OBJECTIVES • Given a wide variety of primary source documents from diverse places and times in the Christian story, students will engage other faithful pilgrims of the past by reading, both critically and appreciatively, the material assigned. • Through the use of discussion questions, students will focus upon intentional, thoughtful verbal and written dialogue with other faithful pilgrims of the present, their classmates and instructor, each week in class discussions and presentations.
Wrap-Up COURSE OBJECTIVES • By reading primary source documents from important periods in the history of the Christian Church, students will encounter the broad sweep of that history. • By using their encounter with history to situate the readings historically, recognizing and transcending, when possible, the gap between past and contemporary understandings of religious/spiritual experience, students will demonstrate a capacity to reflect critically and theologically.
Wrap-Up COURSE OBJECTIVES • Through successful creation of a project that enables the effective articulation of such learning to a specific leadership setting, students will apply this reading, dialogue, encounter, and reflection in life and ministry.
Prayer Almighty God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, We gather with believers all over the world, to glorify You as Creator of heaven and earth. You alone are holy and righteous. We submit to Your authority. We praise and adore You alone. Father, we honor You. Lord Jesus Christ, we honor You. Holy Spirit, we honor You.
Prayer King of Glory, Come and finish Your work in our cities, our peoples and our nations. From all continents and islands we cry: Lift up your heads, O you gates! Be lifted up ancient doors so that the King of glory may come in!
Prayer Come fill the earth with the knowledge of Your glory as the waters cover the sea. The Spirit and the Bride say: Amen! Come Lord Jesus!
