To graduate you need 230 credits, have passed at least Algebra 1, pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) 5 credits = 1 semester class An “F” grade = 0 credits All grades are permanently on your transcript. Minimum 2.0 GPA required for sports, work permits, etc. Facts You Must Know:

Mathematics Essentials of Algebra • Teacher Signature required • “C” or better second semester required to move on Algebra 1 Geometry AP Stats Anytime after Algebra 2 Discrete Math (12th grade only) Algebra 2 Trig/Pre Calculus AP Calculus
You may not have to take a Science class in 9th grade if you are in any one of the following courses or programs: ELD 1, 2, 3, or 4 Literacy Academy Special Education Biology
Check box if you are a “Native Spanish Speaker” At least 2 years of the same world language for college purposes “C” or better in the second semester to move on to the next level Must be in Algebra 1 or higher in 9th grade World Languages

When MHHS Counselors return: You will have your transcript and course selection sheet with you. Your 6 classes and 4 alternates will be chosen. Your sheet will be signed by you and your parents/guardians and by any teachers you needed.
What Now? Take this seriously. Choose wisely. Take these materials home and share them with your parents/guardians. Talk with teachers. Have your classes selected and all the signatures you need by the time MHHS Counselors return.
