Grants & Sponsored Programs… • RCC currently has $4.6 million in grants. • The first submissions to NASA, two in the last two months, are currently under review. • Grants have increased enrollment in advanced math and science courses. • Grants can pay for student support, faculty release time, professional development & travel, equipment and a variety of activities/resources. • Proposals to DOL, NSF, NIH and Homeland Security are in development.
RCC Foundation… History Established in 1985 as a 501(c)(3) (nonprofit) corporation. The Foundation, Inc. receives and disburses tax-exempt donations for the primary purpose of providing scholarships to students. Mission To provide educational opportunities through scholarships to students who might otherwise be unable to attend Robeson Community College.
Scholarships The RCC Foundation supports the academic career of students through two types of scholarships: • Endowed – funded with the cash earnings from invested scholarship funds • Non-Endowed – funded with annual cash gifts from donors *Both scholarships are awarded based upon criteria set forth by the donor, the Foundation Board of Directors and/or a committee of faculty and/or staff at RCC.

Campaign Highlights“Opening Doors, Changing Lives” The Foundation is committed to raising $1.0 Million in an effort to: • Increase Scholarship Awards • Sponsor Academic and Cultural Programs • Support the Literacy Fund – for students earningtheir High School Diploma or GED • Provide Emergency Funds - to students in good academic standing facing financial hardships • Provide Funding for Faculty & Staff Professional Development • Equip Classrooms - Provide the latest technology
Capital Campaign “Opening Doors, Changing Lives” Major Fund Raiser: Naming Rights exist for buildings, classrooms, laboratories, parking lots, and other appropriate spaces for individuals, families, businesses or corporations and are subject to the approval of the RCC Board of Trustees
Campaign Updates Naming Rights: - Workforce Development Building: Industry and Organizations • BB&T • Smithfield Foods • Campbell Soup • Image Supply, Inc. • Lumbee Guaranty Bank • Other donors have named rooms and offices in the WFD & HSB Buildings. • Space is still available in the WFD, Health Sciences Building and any other buildings on Campus

Other Facts You Should Know • Scholarships for the 2009/10 academic year will only be awarded in the Spring of 2010 with the exception of two Nursing Scholarships. • Scholarship applications will be available on the RCC website, Campus Cruiser and in the Financial Aid Office in the fall.
